Day Two Recording
Welcome to Day 2 of the Powerhouse Jumpstart.
- Day Two -
Shake Yourself Loose
Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem, loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
(Isaiah 52:2, KJV)
Arise. Out of the fire.
Despite the flames.
Through the trials.
Move beyond the pain.
It’s time to come out.
Press pause on the memories.
Arise from the ashes Queen.
You can’t change your history.
Loose the chains from your neck.
Establish new standards.
Take the “S” off your chest.
It has been years now.
You have done the expected.
This is far too long to leave
your dreams neglected.
You were the good girl.
The very image of selfless.
Ready to save the world
while loving yourself less.
So consumed in the pursuit.
So determined to win.
That you began to lose
sight of the woman within.
Never realizing that all along
you were playing the game.
Singing a new song
every time the winds changed.
Life is funny like that.
Full of unplanned setbacks
Broken promises, disappointments,
heartache, and short-lived romances.
It’s time for you to be free.
Your mistakes are not set in stone.
You can write a new song and
establish an entirely new tone.
No, you’re not too old.
No, it’s not too late.
It’s your time to rise
and step into a brand-new day.
Livi Anderson, Shake Yourself Loose
The moment you become aware that something is wrong and that your life needs to change, you will meet resistance. So often we hide behind comfort when it comes to making a change. Regardless of where the resistance comes from, it is so easy to run back into a comfortable place and act like nothing needs to change. There is so much to talk about overcoming your enemies, but no accountability to overcome yourself.
This verse of scripture places the onus of liberty on the people of Jerusalem. The encouragement to “loose thyself from the bands of thy neck” tells the inhabitants of Jerusalem that they have the power to take off the chains and be set free. Thousands of years later, God’s word is still relevant and applicable.
You have everything you need to break the limitations and be financially, emotionally, and spiritually free. What is often viewed as normal is not normal at all. What you may see as beyond your power is merely a limitation that has been adopted or passed down to you through exposure and your environment.
In this case, the inhabitants of Jerusalem went into a place where they were immediately stripped of their freedom and outright oppressed by their enemies. You may be facing similar circumstances of oppression, fear, hopelessness, and feeling trapped with no way out. This is the result of years of following a path that just happened to be the only option you thought you had.
The Prophet Hosea declared the Lord’s “people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6, KJV) You can not pursue what you’ve never been exposed to. The options for shifting, rebuilding, and restoring your life are not always available even when you know “the how” of the process. It’s even harder when you’re surrounded by those who have never known freedom and more than likely do not believe you deserve any better.
Which is the power that the Prophet Isaiah was releasing into the lives of God’s children. The power to look and see that their limitations can be overcome and released. That reminder is needed now more than ever. The knowledge of God’s love for you, your power, and your ability to step into freedom is the key. It is the only thing keeping you and so many others in a place of confusion, frustration, conditional depression, and hopelessness.
You have the power. Now walk in it.
What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You. - Livi Anderson
It’s time to pray. The spirit within you is always speaking and showing you small signs of what you should do and the things you may not know are possible for you. Write them here.
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” (Jeremiah 33:3 ESV)
