- Day Five - God is Greater
Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed. (Isaiah 52:5, KJV)
Greater than the hurt
Greater than the losses
Greater than the sin
and everything it costs you.
Greater than the walls
Greater than the limits
Greater than the pitfalls
and everything in them.
He is God in the darkness
He is God in the light.
Through the ups and downs,
He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Everything you need
can be found in the King.
For through His Word,
God created everything.
God has seen all of it.
Believe it, Queen. He knows.
He loved you first and
He is still in control.
- Livi Anderson, God is Greater
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7 KJV) After you wake up and decide to rise, don’t be surprised when you meet resistance. Do not be confused if the people who were once in your corner begin to abandon you.
This is often the greatest complaint of women on the move. After being one way and adhering to one set of beliefs for so long, the decision to trust God and do something different will result in this resistance. As the Lord is speaking in this scripture, you can begin to see how the inhabitants of Jerusalem are mistreated and oppressed.
Yes, despite being believers, they deal with unfavorable circumstances. Then God decides to step in, and after a little while, begins to change things. Why not sooner? Why not at the beginning of the oppression? It’s easy to question an all-powerful God rather than question how this all-powerful God is shaping a better you. We know that God can do anything at any time. However, we must not discount the refinement that occurs when lessons are learned through our trials and wisdom is gained by walking through the fire.
Job was just minding his business; Gideon was hiding food from the Midianites; King Saul was looking for his father’s sheep; Ruth was taking care of her home and the Woman at the well was doing what she’s always done: getting water for her home. In each of these biblical accounts, the individuals were doing what was expected when God came in and changed everything.
Your enemy may not be the Assyrians. It may be a chronic lack of confidence that has kept you playing small and hiding all of your life. Maybe all you know is how to survive when God is calling you to thrive. Maybe your home is an empty nest and the quiet has reminded you that your whole life was dedicated to your children. Finally, you may be chosen to bear the weight of a generation aching to be free and you just don’t know how.
The time for playing small ends now. The season of feeling stuck and overwhelmed ends now. This passage of scripture reflects the heart of God and the stirring up of his anger concerning the condition of Jerusalem. God is not satisfied with his name being mocked in a strange land. Likewise, the Lord our God is not okay with you living below the life and the liberty He ordained and promised you before the foundation of the world.
It is written,
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” (Ephesians 1:4, KJV)
This is a turning point. As day five comes to a close, consider that the affliction you have and may presently be enduring is an indication of the glory that God wants to deposit into your situation. The word declares that “many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Psalm 34:19, KJV) as it is difficult to lead a life in Christ inside of a world hell-bent on dismantling any evidence that He exists and has the power to deliver you.
Now is the time to start tapping in and trusting God like never before. A Queen on the rise has no time to entertain the notion of “impossible.” God is greater and specializes in making the most impossible situations possible. Just trust Him.
Our God Specializes in The Impossible.
- Livi Anderson
Our God specializes in the impossible. What may seem unlikely to the world is simply a chance for God to show out for you. What is the most unlikely solution you’ve been looking for from the Lord?
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26, KJV)
