Devotional 88: Go A Little Deeper
There's so much to discover inside of you. The desires of your heart, new gifts, fresh opportunities, and the deeper expression of your identity in Christ. But if you're looking at the surface and only aware of what you can see in the natural, you will absolutely miss what God is doing in this season. It's time to go deeper. It's time to go below the surface and take a good long look at all that is inside of you.
Certain situations come so that you may examine yourself and seek a deeper relationship with God. So often, we see hard seasons as a negative. We consider those seasons as the mess and the pain that we must go through in order to grow. However, hard seasons can be a major blessing. They come so that you can pause and take a good long look at your God. Some 46:10 says to be still and know that he is God. Perhaps there is more to you and more inside of you then you ever imagined. It's not always about growth. Sometimes, it's about the digging.
It's about doing the heart-work and discovering your true purpose. Yes, as human beings we often grow through pain in the natural. But as believers, those hard seasons can be a training ground and a wake up call. Dig a little deeper and begin to discover deeper layers of yourself and your mission. Gain clarity in the stillness. Begin to assess and shift where you are on the path that you're taking. The hard things can be a beautiful place of course correction and realignment on your journey with God.
Don't be afraid and don't be overwhelmed. Rest and flow with God in this moment. This is the beginning of the rest of your life. Is it not worth going a little deeper? Aren’t you worth going a little deeper? These are serious questions that only you can answer.
