Devotional 100: Lessons and Blessings In The Move
There comes a time in every woman’s life when she finally realizes that every loss, disappointment, and even the shame isn’t a loss. The fighter in her finally begins to rest and she embraces the journey as a series of trials and tests. Sometimes it happens when you’re young and other times when you have a few years and a number of tears under your belt.
But when it happens, it’s undeniable. By force or by choice, we all grow and learn more lessons than can ever be told. Your personal memoir could only ever hope to scratch the surface of the iceberg that is your life.
Esther and Ruth come to mind. The Queen who was raised and trained by men and the sister who was forced to grow forward toward a new home. Leaving her culture, her sister, and her homeland behind. (Esther 2:15, Ruth 1:16-17)
Both have stories of incredible loss and somehow by God’s grace became undeniable forces of legacy and change during their lifetime. We know their stories. We’ve heard them before. But that I’m now way diminishes their impact.
Likewise, your lessons, trials, and tests are a witness to the faithfulness of God. Despite all that you are facing in this moment, something is being forged in the fire. It’s the trying of your faith which is more precious than gold:
1 Peter 1:7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: - KJV
