You have hundreds of choices and any one of them, maybe every one of them can change the trajectory of your life. Maybe you meet your husband at the mall or your new business partner in the gym. Imagine that year abroad, two years of grad school, that teen fling; all crucial steps in the making of who you are today.

Now, imagine going forth in a new direction shaped by a different set of decisions based on a new set of beliefs about you and your worth. Imagine, for just a moment, that you can mentally prepare yourself for a greater level of growth and success simply because of the sound you choose to receive.

There are many different sounds in the environment and in your history. The sound of the times, the society you live in, the sounds of your parents, and even the sounds that you hear at work have the ability to shape you. So how do you get back to the center and the intentionality of releasing a new sound? You start with the word.

The word declares that we be transformed by the renewing of our minds versus being conformed to the ways of this world.

“And be not conformed to this world, but be ye

transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2, KJV)

The good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is not achieved by conforming to the accepted thought patterns and beliefs of the world. Sometimes, the sound you release will not fit logically but will be exactly what the world needs.

You Must Release The Sound of Breakthrough

- Livi Anderson

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)

This scripture is a powerful reminder of the power of our thoughts. These thoughts can be shaped by what we speak. You are not alone in your desire to know exactly how you can be certain that you are listening to the voice of God. The question of hearing God is often asked concerning the incredible story of my rise from homelessness to single-handedly launching an online ministry that reaches over two hundred thousand women across five continents daily.

The truth is, I didn’t do this alone. At some point during my walk after leaving the mission home and surrendering my children to state care four months later, I began to understand that I was embarking on a spiritual journey that my family and friends could not understand. I was homeless with no job and had a burning desire to do something different. I refused government assistance and I truly had no idea how to operate below the poverty line.

After living with my mother for three months, I knew that my children and I had overstayed our welcome. Two weeks before leaving, I was washing dishes in my mother’s small apartment. I slept on the floor, my children slept on the couches, and cleaning was a necessity to keep the peace. As I washed the dishes and worshipped in song that day, I had a vision of doing a major event with 12 powerhouse women. In this event, we were giving away business grants, housing stipends, new cars, and priceless wisdom and knowledge that would change people’s lives.

I fell to my knees under the weight of the vision and started glorifying God. I knew that the vision was real and that God was going to use me to do something amazing. Unfortunately, I had no idea what it would take, I didn’t know how it would happen, and what cost I would pay to pursue this vision. My children and I spent the following weeks bouncing from home to home, hotel to hotel, and finally, when I could no longer endure, I surrendered my children to the state because no place else would accept a single mother with four children.

My family attempted to help at that point but it was too late. I faced a long journey of having to legally prove my worthiness and ability to provide for my children. The initial breakdown was scary. It was like a character watching a movie. I saw myself crying for days. I saw myself writing the letter to the courts that proved that I wasn’t a drug addict looking for a handout, but an intelligent woman with 10 years of work history and solid credentials. I simply needed help that my hometown was not equipped to provide and possessed no working knowledge of how to obtain what I needed.

Four days later, everything changed, and my baby sister in her innocence attempted to console a grieving mother by inviting me to a basketball game. I had a choice, I could continue spending my nights crying out for deliverance from an impossible situation, or spend a few hours watching a game and hoping to dull the pain. I chose the latter and gained the former as well. But not right away.

You see, that inclination to live was an innate refusal to die inside of a situation in which I had neither the power nor the wisdom to change. At this game, I discovered a photo-editing app called Instagram. A young girl in our group asked to use my phone and uploaded a picture of herself. I watched as she did this and I immediately did the same under my own Instagram account. It was at that moment that God changed my life. He had provided a way of escape. I knew with everything in me that I could use this platform to “blog my comeback.”

Of course, it didn’t happen that way. I couldn’t remain anywhere for more than three months at a time. I could only visit my children weekly while I used this platform as if my life depended on it. But I began to hear God tell me to write encouraging posts. He began to show me what to look for, how to use it, and how to reach women on the platform.

My family would push me to get work and I would try but never for anything remedial. I knew that caring for a family of five on $8 or $9 dollars an hour was impossible. I had a resume that reflected I was worth double that amount and a job market that couldn’t support it. So I wrote. I crafted bite-sized messages and began to grow my account little by little.

As the enemy began to close doors and aggravate my spirit to make me quit and submit to my circumstances, I wrote. When my family called me crazy and called me names, I wrote. I knew what I heard even though I could not see the manifestation, yet. God was telling me to build and I refused to stop. The months following revealed several injustices one after another. Even a caseworker questioned my sanity and threatened me with psychological evaluations because I refused to accept government housing. All of which made it harder for me, so I continued to write.

Through it all, I heard God. The problem is that no one else could hear this and I had to fight the good fight of faith to see the evidence of what I was hearing be manifested. Make no mistake, anything that requires you to implicitly trust God will be rejected by everything and everyone on your old level.

I would follow the voice of the Lord daily and find places to rest as King David wrote,

“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.” (Psalm 23:2, KJV)

In hindsight, I realize that I was being trained to hear God as a Prophet and Christian Life Coach. My ear to hear was honed in battle, my enemies were multiple and consisted of rejection, insecurity, poverty, lack, loneliness, and homelessness.

In listening to God, my faith was fulfilled time and time again. In listening to God, your faith will be tested and increased. Your heart will be healed and you will be made whole. Don’t be afraid. Trust that God will grant you clarity as decreed,

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21, KJV)

On this walk back into purpose, liberty, and wholeness in Christ, He speaks, and He will not leave you alone.

Prayer is a Conversation. Do not be confused if the people who were once in your corner begin to abandon you.

This is often the greatest complaint of women on the move. After being one way and adhering to one set of beliefs for so long, the decision to trust God and do something different will result in this resistance. As the Lord is speaking in this scripture, you can begin to see how the inhabitants of Jerusalem are mistreated and oppressed.

Yes, despite being believers, they deal with unfavorable circumstances. Then God decides to step in, and after a little while, begins to change things. Why not sooner? Why not at the beginning of the oppression? It’s easy to question an all-powerful God rather than question how this all-powerful God is shaping a better you. We know that God can do anything at any time. However, we must not discount the refinement that occurs when lessons are learned through our trials and wisdom is gained by walking through the fire.

Job was just minding his business; Gideon was hiding food from the Midianites; King Saul was looking for his father’s sheep; Ruth was taking care of her home and the Woman at the well was doing what she’s always done: getting water for her home. In each of these biblical accounts, the individuals were doing what was expected when God came in and changed everything.

Your enemy may not be the Assyrians. It may be a chronic lack of confidence that has kept you playing small and hiding all of your life. Maybe all you know is how to survive when God is calling you to thrive. Maybe your home is an empty nest and the quiet has reminded you that your whole life was dedicated to your children. Finally, you may be chosen to bear the weight of a generation aching to be free and you just don’t know how.

The time for playing small ends now. The season of feeling stuck and overwhelmed ends now. This passage of scripture reflects the heart of God and the stirring up of his anger concerning the condition of Jerusalem. God is not satisfied with his name being mocked in a strange land. Likewise, the Lord our God is not okay with you living below the life and the liberty He ordained and promised you before the foundation of the world.

It is written,

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” (Ephesians 1:4, KJV)

This is a turning point. As day five comes to a close, consider that the affliction you have and may presently be enduring is an indication of the glory that God wants to deposit into your situation. The word declares that “many are the afflictions of the righteous” (Psalm 34:19, KJV) as it is difficult to lead a life in Christ inside of a world hell-bent on dismantling any evidence that He exists and has the power to deliver you.

Now is the time to start tapping in and trusting God like never before. A Queen on the rise has no time to entertain the notion of “impossible.” God is greater and specializes in making the most impossible situations possible. Just trust Him.

Our God Specializes in The Impossible.

- Livi Anderson

Our God specializes in the impossible. What may seem unlikely to the world is simply a chance for God to show out for you. What is the most unlikely solution you’ve been looking for from the Lord?

“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26, KJV)

Be Free! Before this unparalleled demonstration of God’s love, God demonstrated His love for us by turning the tables in the most impossible situations. The difference between us now, and the Israelites being addressed by the Prophet Isaiah is the Blood that was shed on the cross giving us victory over principalities, dark forces, and generational curses.

It’s in this, that the enemy you’re facing right now has already been defeated. Poverty, insecurity, doubt, fear, anxiety, worry, homelessness, and so many spiritual strongholds are already broken. The oppressive limitations of society and the complex man-made conditions that may be standing between you and your purpose are broken.

Once my children and I left the mission home, I knew that there was something more in store for me. Upon receiving knowledge that I would no longer be permitted to remain in the program, I wrote a two-page piece in the Orlando Examiner that gave a detailed account of the mission home and how it differed from a basic shelter. The piece was written out of a grateful heart for all the mission home had done for my family. It was written in two days on the shelter’s computers under a self-imposed deadline. I submitted the piece in November 2012 with no idea how this small act would change the trajectory of my life.

The mission home’s administration received a notification whenever anything featuring their name hit the internet. At first, they thought I was an undercover journalist who infiltrated their facility and reported my findings. When I informed my caseworker that I had written the piece, she immediately read it and sent it to the administration. It was at this point that I began to understand that God had blessed me to write. I was selected to complete a media interview sharing my experience in the mission home, and I distinctly remember one of the staff members telling me that the piece I had written was better than most of what he read in the news.

It was a wake-up call. I began to write more despite the treacherous road that lay ahead for my family. What would happen next would test my resolve to write for a living and stretch my faith to believe that God was building something amazing in and through me.

My mind had to change about myself. My knowledge of the history of poverty and lack in my family was expanded to understand the fact that my parents were homeless and that what I was enduring was more than an unfortunate event. It was a generational curse, a stronghold that my mother, my father, and others in my family had endured and did not defeat. The survival instincts that I had become so used to were a part of my bloodline and I had no idea until I had to walk through it myself.

Queen, whatever you have endured thus far may have roots that you don’t fully understand, yet. The inhabitants of Jerusalem were “oppressed without cause” by the Assyrians and they were taken captive for nothing. When God declares that they will be redeemed without money, He is demonstrating His power to restore us without money. This is the grace of God that goes beyond the power of money and subjugates it to the power of His grace and mercy in our lives.

Not having enough money is the principal reason that many have remained trapped in unacceptable circumstances. The moment you accept unacceptable circumstances as the inhabitants of Jerusalem did in Isaiah 52, you inadvertently concede defeat to a defeated foe.

God has overcome the enemy and every instance of lack that is present in your situation. Know that you have options and that there is always another way. The faith that you have in God will make you whole. Whether the issue is lack of money, lack of confidence, or even lack of emotional support; God has overcome these obstacles and so many more. The only thing missing is your faith, desire to move forward, and the will to follow it into freedom.

Gratefulness Defeats The Plans of The Enemy.

- Livi Anderson

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

(Romans 8:28, KJV)

How can you express gratitude in your current circumstances?

Be Redeemed! - Day 3 of Powerhouse Jumpstart

Olivia Anderson

The Recording For Today’s Session:

- Day Three -

Be Redeemed

For thus saith the Lord, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. Your rights are inalienable.

It will always cost you something

to accept the easiest option available.

Livi Anderson, Be Redeemed

Freedom. It seems like such a common concept and in many cases a right. However, we are in a generation where “freedom” is so easily defined and re-defined. Not in the literal sense. The definition of freedom has not changed. The sweeping changes to the definition of freedom have happened in real-time in our everyday lives. The freedom that we are so hungry for is often a step outside of comfort and a word spoken just beyond our silence.

This is the challenge that you are facing right now. Do you speak up in the face of injustice? Or do you let it go? After all, it's no big deal. Right? This logic is so ingrained within you that you don't realize that the things you know are injustices are wrong. Wrong for you, wrong for your family, and wrong for your life.

Day after day, one decision after another, and one painful release at a time, we decide to give up on anything that rocks the proverbial boat. Anything that is deemed inappropriate and that happens to float outside of what is widely accepted as “right” is flat-out rejected.

Terms such as “crazy” and “crisis” are used to help fit you inside of society’s parameters of normal and acceptable behavior. I encountered this form of limited thinking as soon as I realized the Lord was calling me to actually build a ministry. Not knowing what the inner structure of a ministry looked like, I knew this was something that was going to be challenging and had to be created now.

In the fall of 2012, coming to grips with the failure of everything I built with my own hands, I landed in a faith-based mission home. It was there that I rededicated my life to Christ. It was there that the niggling idea to launch my online ministry, A Queen’s Worth, was born. Resurrected is probably a more appropriate term. I began to see women of every race and age in the same socioeconomic situation I found myself: homeless.

Women with careers, husbands, and families. All of us were at the bottom and relying on the facilities, staff, and beliefs of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission to help heal the brokenness many didn’t know they had. It was there that my heart began to break for the very things that broke God’s heart. I began to see generations of women who were lost and needed to be set free.

It was in this place of lack and extreme poverty, that God began to show me the way to be free. It wasn’t about money, cars, marriage, and having a family. Many of these women had an abundance of those things, but life still happened. Jobs were lost. Marriages fell apart. Medical issues began to destabilize the lives they once knew and all of us landed in the same place with varying stories and a desperate need for grace.

It was there that I found redemption wasn’t in a new job, a new house, nor was it to be found in a new marriage. These things are all good and have their purpose but, true redemption is in forgiving yourself for becoming your worst enemy. It’s in releasing the need to “be” everything and attending to everyone else’s needs. The redemption that you so desperately need is found at the feet of the King of Kings.

It is here that you are forced to come to terms with the poor decisions you've made and the costs you’ve paid for selling yourself into a life that looks and possibly feels distinctly like slavery. You’re enslaved to your fears, your ego, your decisions, the concessions, circumstances, all of those years, and those times that you just “needed” to have things go your way.

It is in this passage of scripture that God is giving you a second chance to change and to grow. To become more than the mistakes you’ve made. Oftentimes, you may hear people say to make the best of a bowl of lemons by making lemonade. My prayer is that you take those lemons to God and make room for the freedom to be authentically you.

No more “dealing” with the brokenness, the mistakes, the sin, and the oppressive weight of silencing the woman within. I challenge you to do what I decided to do and dare to grow, build, and flow into the woman God intended when He created you. It is this belief that allowed me to grow from a homeless single mother in a mission home to being a published author, international life coach, and founder of a ministry with over 200,000 followers all over the world.

You must decide now to change your life and be free. It’s never too late to be redeemed.

You Shall Be Redeemed Without Money.

- Livi Anderson

What would you do right now if you knew that there were more than enough resources to get things done? So often we hide behind comfort when it comes to making a change. Regardless of where the resistance comes from, it is so easy to run back into a comfortable place and act like nothing needs to change. There is so much to talk about overcoming your enemies, but no accountability to overcome yourself.

This verse of scripture places the onus of liberty on the people of Jerusalem. The encouragement to “loose thyself from the bands of thy neck” tells the inhabitants of Jerusalem that they have the power to take off the chains and be set free. Thousands of years later, God’s word is still relevant and applicable.

You have everything you need to break the limitations and be financially, emotionally, and spiritually free. What is often viewed as normal is not normal at all. What you may see as beyond your power is merely a limitation that has been adopted or passed down to you through exposure and your environment.

In this case, the inhabitants of Jerusalem went into a place where they were immediately stripped of their freedom and outright oppressed by their enemies. You may be facing similar circumstances of oppression, fear, hopelessness, and feeling trapped with no way out. This is the result of years of following a path that just happened to be the only option you thought you had.

The Prophet Hosea declared the Lord’s “people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6, KJV) You can not pursue what you’ve never been exposed to. The options for shifting, rebuilding, and restoring your life are not always available even when you know “the how” of the process. It’s even harder when you’re surrounded by those who have never known freedom and more than likely do not believe you deserve any better.

Which is the power that the Prophet Isaiah was releasing into the lives of God’s children. The power to look and see that their limitations can be overcome and released. That reminder is needed now more than ever. The knowledge of God’s love for you, your power, and your ability to step into freedom is the key. It is the only thing keeping you and so many others in a place of confusion, frustration, conditional depression, and hopelessness.

You have the power. Now walk in it.

What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You. - Livi Anderson

It’s time to pray. It is the opening of the chapter and in this chapter, the Lord is speaking. Verse one is a clarion call to a sleeping city to wake up. After years of being lost and oppressed, the city of Jerusalem had lost itself and began to lose hope.

The Prophet Isaiah paints a vivid picture of a turning point and shift. This turning point is much like what you encounter when life happens. Like the inhabitants of Jerusalem, you may be overwhelmed by the tides of life.

Unplanned circumstances, expectations, and obligations lead us to become complacent and comfortable living halfway lives. Never realizing until things change that we have grown comfortable in a place we never belonged and were only supposed to pass through.

It is during these times that you wake up. It is during these seasons that you truly begin to look at your life, at yourself, and at the decisions you have made. So many are lost in the waves of life while looking happy and complete on the outside. Maybe that happiness is heartfelt. Maybe it is contentment with the lemons that life has tossed your way.

However, make no mistake, there is a difference between contentment and complacency. They are separated by the very thin lines of fear and faith. Complacency comes wrapped in a standard package of “I’m okay” and “It will get better one day” while masquerading as genuine contentment.

Fear says that “contentment” is the key to living below the promises of God and compromising your happiness in favor of meeting the obligation of responsibility. You are told that it is your “responsibility” to get a quality education, get a good job, get married, and have children. The lines are set before you’re old enough to understand and sign the contract.

School-aged children are categorized by their “strengths” and given education tracts that promise a life full of growth and stability. We are told: Mistakes? Deal with them. Live with them. But stay committed to the vision. The problem is whose vision you adhered to and whose opinion of you shaped and made you who you are today.

Where is the room for grace? For growth? Where are the love of the Father and the purpose for which you were created? These concepts are not discussed much and the principles are rarely embraced. The thought that you can reinvent your life and become a stronger, wiser, and more fulfilled version of yourself is, for the most part, a foreign concept.

Your family may fear that you’ve encountered an identity crisis and that you need help. Coworkers and friends may not be able to understand. You may find yourself feeling alone, frustrated, and confused. This is what happens when you wake up. This is what happens when you truly start to believe that God can do anything. Restore your dreams. Redeem the years, dry those private tears, and allow the Lord to make all things new.

This is the beginning of an awakening, redemption, growth, and evolution. This is where the lily realizes that it’s surrounded by roses. The candle begins to flicker and the moon begins to shift. Your time as a caterpillar is coming to an end. This is also the beginning of a deeper relationship with Jesus. Fortunately, Queen, you are not alone and the time for you to arise has come.

Journaling Prompt: Authority & Dominion Belong To You. - Livi Anderson

What are your dreams?
